COLUMBUS, Ohio - OhioPen -- COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio State Parks Foundation (OSPF) has announced the appointment of Christopher H. Gillcrist as its new Executive Director. Gillcrist brings three decades of nonprofit leadership, fundraising, and public engagement experience to the role, most recently as Executive Director of the National Museum of the Great Lakes.

"The Foundation is so pleased to have Chris Gillcrist become our new executive director," said Dr. Marcia Sloan Latta, Board Chair of the Ohio State Parks Foundation. "We conducted an extensive statewide search and were deeply impressed with Chris' experience, fundraising success, and commitment to the outdoors.

"Ohio is one of only seven states in the nation where the state parks are free to visit," Latta continued. "We know that people who spend time in parks are happier and healthier. That's why we're focused on increasing access to our parks and funding projects that make them more enjoyable for all. We're confident that Chris will help us accomplish these goals."
