New Donation gives students and families experiencing homelessness access to clean clothing
CINCINNATI - OhioPen -- Degy Impact, the nonprofit arm of Degy Entertainment, has donated a Whirlpool washer and dryer to Cincinnati Public Schools Project Connect, which supports students and families experiencing homelessness. The machines are now installed at the district's WRAP Center, serving families staying at the Safe Sleep Lot.
From a News Story to a Partnership
In October 2025, Degy Entertainment President & CEO Ari Nisman read news coverage of Cincinnati Public Schools creating a safe parking lot for families sleeping in their cars. He reached out to ask how Degy Impact could help, and laundry access rose to the top of the list.
"When I read about families in Cincinnati sleeping in their cars so their kids could stay in school, it stuck with me. I couldn't stop thinking about it. Clean clothes are something most of us never think twice about, and no child should have to miss school because they don't have them. That's exactly why we started Degy Impact." – Ari Nisman, President & CEO, Degy Entertainment & Degy Impact

Removing a Barrier to Education
Since opening, the Safe Sleep Lot has served nearly 400 individuals in less than four months. For many families, finding a place to wash clothes is a daily challenge that affects a student's attendance and confidence.
"For children experiencing homelessness, something as simple as having clean clothes can make the difference between attending school with confidence or staying home out of fear of embarrassment or being bullied by their peers. No child should have to choose between their education and their dignity. Through this generous donation, Degy Impact is helping us remove yet another barrier to education by ensuring that students and families have access to clean clothing during an incredibly challenging time in their lives. At Project Connect, we believe that meeting a child's basic needs is essential to their academic success and overall well-being. We are deeply grateful to Degy Impact for recognizing that even the most fundamental resources can have a profound and lasting impact on a child's life." – Rebeka Beach, Program Manager, Cincinnati Public Schools Project Connect
