WASHINGTON, April 10, 2025 ~ NASA's Glenn Research Center in Cleveland is set to launch a new program this summer aimed at preparing high school students for careers in the aerospace industry. The NASA Glenn High School Engineering Institute will provide rising juniors and seniors in Northeast Ohio with a free, hands-on learning experience.
The program, which will take place at the aircraft hangar at NASA's Glenn Research Center, will immerse students in the world of NASA while equipping them with essential career readiness skills for future pursuits in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
During the five-day institute, students will have the opportunity to work alongside technical experts from NASA Glenn and engage in authentic mission content. They will also gain a deeper understanding of the engineering design process and develop practical solutions to real-world challenges. This includes testing prototypes to answer questions related to key mission areas such as acoustic dampening, power management and distribution, and simulated lunar operations.
