PITTSBURGH, Feb. 20, 2025 ~ TMS International Corporation, a leading provider of outsourced environmental and industrial services, has announced the appointment of Joel Hawthorne as its new President and Chief Executive Officer. The appointment will be effective from March 3, 2025.

Hawthorne will be taking over the role from Raymond Kalouche, who has been with the company for 36 years. Kalouche will continue to serve as Chairman of the Board and support a smooth transition for Hawthorne.

With over 35 years of experience in the manufacturing and metals industries, Hawthorne brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new role. He previously served as President and CEO at EverZinc (formerly U.S. Zinc and EverZinc S.A.), American Zinc Recycling (formerly Horsehead Corporation), Specialty Steel Works Inc. (formerly Optima Specialty Steel, Inc.), and GrafTech International Ltd. (formerly UCAR International). Hawthorne holds a master's and bachelor's degree from the University of Akron in Ohio.
