CAS Dataloggers enabled remote monitoring for a processing plant, ensuring safe storage of temperature-sensitive chemicals & maintaining the required temperature range.
Key Features & User Requirements
Before their initial search, the staff compiled a list of essential requirements for the new system:
- Real-time monitoring: The plant required a real-time system to monitor conditions and transmit data over the existing wired LAN network.
- Mobile accessibility: Supervisors needed the ability to access temperature data and receive alerts on their mobile devices and remote computers.
- Data storage and retrieval: The system must store data for extended periods and allow users to access and retrieve it easily.
Solution: Networked Data Logging System
Four T&D TR-71NW Data Loggers were installed in different storage areas, offering comprehensive data collection and analysis.
- Dual-channel recording: Each logger could record measurements on two channels simultaneously using external temperature sensors to monitor 2 locations with one device, for example, an ambient area and a refrigerated area
- Wide temperature range: The sensors had a measurement range of -40°C to 110°C (-40°F to 230°F) allowing them to use a single device for room temperature, refrigerators, and freezers.
- High accuracy: Measurements were accurate to 0.1°C allowing them to offer their customers that the materials were properly stored with a high degree of confidence.
- Large data storage: Each logger could store up to 8,000 data sets for extended logging periods and local backup in case of network connectivity issues.
