(DE-FI) Global INC™ launches hands-on program exploring the journey from land → fiber → textile → design through Dayton and Cincinnati workshops.

DAYTON, Ohio - OhioPen -- DAYTON, Ohio — Invitation requests are now open for Farm to Fashion™, a hands-on educational initiative developed by (DE-FI) Global INC™ that explores the journey from land → fiber → textile → design. The program will take place across Dayton and Cincinnati and is administered through Dayton Fashion Week™ and Fashion Week of Cincinnati™.

Farm to Fashion™ introduces participants to the often-overlooked foundations of the fashion industry by connecting agriculture, sustainability, textile science, and creative practice. Through a series of workshops and studio experiences, participants will learn how natural materials such as fibers, dyes, and agricultural resources become textiles and products used throughout the fashion and design industries.

The initiative offers two learning tracks:

A Generation of (DE-FI)ance™ Track – designed for youth in grades 4–12, introducing the roots of fashion through land stewardship, fiber education, textile science, and hands-on making.

Community Track – designed for adults interested in the intersection of agriculture, textiles, sustainability, and design.

Participants will explore topics such as natural fibers, botanical dyes, textile science, sustainable materials, and garment creation, while engaging directly with artisans, educators, and industry professionals.

"Many people see the runway, but fashion begins long before that," said Caressa L. Brown, founder and owner of (DE-FI) Global INC™. "Farm to Fashion is about reconnecting design with the land, the materials, and the people who cultivate and transform them."

The Spring Build Out of the program begins April 25, 2026, with sessions continuing through the summer. Activities may take place in both Dayton and Cincinnati and may include indoor and outdoor learning experiences.

Farm to Fashion™ operates as a pay-what-you-can initiative, with suggested contributions typically ranging from $25–$50 per workshop depending on materials and activities. Invitation requests are now open.
