The company has seen a surge in cloud adoption around document bundling and now PDF editing, sharing best practices and lessons learned around the cloud and the 'PDF as a Service' trend.
CORK, Ireland - OhioPen -- Cloud-based document bundling software provider Bundledocs today shared a 12 month 'progress report' of its cloud bundling and PDF editing solution entry into the North American legal market.
A key to Bundledocs' success in binding and bundling over the years has been the added ability to manipulate, edit, and annotate the PDF content within the bundle or binder. This PDF functionality described as "easy to use" and "just right" functionality by Bundledocs clients has led Bundledocs to offer 'PDF editing' "as a service," applicability either inside or outside of the bundle. PDF as Service provides functionality and tools for working with PDF documents. It allows users to access and utilize PDF-related features and capabilities through an API (Application Programming Interface) or web interface, eliminating or drastically reducing the need to license and maintain traditional PDF processing functionalities in-house.
"We attended ILTACON last year with a proof of concept of how North American law firms would utilize specialized cloud document binding and PDF editing," shared Peter Zver, Bundledocs VP of Revenue and Operations, North America. "One year later, our assumptions have been re-affirmed and increasingly, law firms of all sizes and complexities are leveraging cloud document bundles as well as PDF editing functionality that saves time, expense, and can be used out of the box and without much training or specialization." The ability for both contributors and attorney-consumers to access the single centralized bundle at it evolves through production has been especially well received."
Partner expansion: Within the last year, Bundledocs has forged strategic partnerships with leading legal technology IT and implementation experts Optiable, Chelsea Office Systems, and Systems Auditing (SAI). Earlier this month, Affinity Consulting, a business and IT consultancy enabling and empowering legal teams of all sizes to work smarter, joined as strategic partner. As part of the partnership, Affinity Consulting will be able to advise legal professionals with document bundling and PDF editing solutions and specifically recommend the Bundledocs best of breed solution. Bundledocs which provides a PDF-as-a-Service solution is an ideal partner fit for Affinity Consulting, which has long recognized that as part of law firms move to cloud-based document solutions, PDF cloud solutions are becoming increasingly viable.

Product innovation: Bundledocs Editor, launched last August during ILTACON 2022, allows users to manipulate, OCR, annotate and share PDF documents all from within their web browser or directly from within their document management system (DMS). A native cloud first architecture underpinned by rapid and agile development enables Bundledocs to quickly deliver new enhancements based on market feedback and regional needs. PDF-A Support, a requirement for the USPTO, has been added ensuring that a document can be accessed and reproduced the same way, consistently, over the long term.
Jeanne Coleman, who runs her own family law focused firm in Tampa, discovered Bundledocs on her annual trip to ABA TECHSHOW this March. "We were fortunate to connect with Peter Zver and his team and see how Bundledocs can help us better organize and deliver document bundles. The best thing about using Bundledocs is its simplicity. It's so easy to use, safe, and extremely fast. We use it whenever we can."
Integration strategy: Bundledocs' flexibility and open API access enable seamless integrations with cloud-based solutions or local on-premises applications. Bundledocs integrates with most leading practice and document management providers including Actionstep, Clio, iManage and NetDocuments. With the announcement of the standalone PDF Editor, the integration was extended providing in-line PDF edit services directly within both NetDocuments and iManage.
"Much like when we began our journey with Bundledocs in Europe a few years ago, the North American market has embraced our approach and solutions," shared Bundledocs CEO Brian Kenneally. "Our value proposition is resonating: We are 100% cloud, provide cost effective, proven, and easy to use document bundling tools, and now with the PDF editor enable administrators as well as professional staff to master PDF editing without complexity or lack of specific and often novel expertise."

North American Support expansion: Bundledocs provides 24/7 support, having recently added customer success and support roles in North America and Australia, in addition to the European support team located in Ireland.
Zver added: "Moving to a cloud-based editor provides cost savings as well as security, centralized management, collaboration, and integration opportunities not available with standalone products. As firms are migrating their document lifecycle applications, most notably their DMS to the cloud, a PDF editor represents an important part of that journey."
Bundledocs has become the market leader in the electronic document production space, working primarily with the legal sector. With over 1,200 clients in over 34 countries, they are the first electronic document bundling tool on the market to receive ISO 27001 compliance.
