CHARLESTON, S.C. - OhioPen -- Toni Vanschoyck and her family are going to make a few weekends in the next two months "super" for some conference attendees in four cities.
Vanschoyck — an author, motivational speaker and senior executive director for hair and skin care product company Monat — will be joined onstage by her husband/business partner Jay Treloar and daughter/assistant Naomi for what are being dubbed Super Saturdays and Super Sundays in Charlotte, N.C., on Oct. 26; Shelbyville, Ill., on Nov. 17; and Madison, Wis., on Dec. 8. They will present the Monat opportunity as well as training, coaching and mentoring for those who already are part of the Monat family. They started their events Oct. 20 in Tampa, Fla.
Because much of what they will talk about is covered in Vanschoyck's book, "Effing Simple," she also will hold a book signing and pose for pictures following each event.
The first order of business will be sharing the opportunity to be part of Monat. When presenting that opportunity, Vanschoyck and Treloar cover three main reasons to join:
Among the topics that will be addressed are:
Overall, Vanschoyck said she hopes the events give attendees something on which to take action.

"My goal for these events is to provide service and value to people," she said. "We're driven to offer something tangible they can use in their business or their life. It's a bonding event. We ask people to share at the end, and, literally, there is not a dry eye in the house. And when emotions are attached to a goal, when something makes people happy, they are 70 percent more likely to achieve that goal."
Each event also has a gratitude component. At each event, participants are asked to join Monat in donating to a chosen charity, most often local to the city in which the event is being held. Attendees at the Tampa event gave monetary donations or briought items from The Children's Cancer Center's wish list (https://childrenscancercenter.org/wish-list/), and Monat will match donations given to The HD Life Foundation (https://thehdlife.org/donate/) during the Charlotte event. Shelbyville's event will benefit Shelby County Angel of Love (https://www.facebook.com/angelofloveshelbyville), and donations for the Madison event will support Hometown Heroes (https://hometownheroes.org/donate/).

Vanschoyck joined Monat Global in 2014 as its first market partner when it was a start-up network marketing organization. She was the first in the organization to hit the million-dollar club and has since gone on to join the $4 million and $5 million clubs. Today, she and Treloar cultivate multiple revenue streams, which have amassed them a seven-figure income.
Along with the couple's combined motivational speaking engagements, they earned a spot on Network Marketing Pro's Million Dollar Hall of Fame list in December 2018 and started a nonprofit organization, Low Country Love, to help individuals who have experienced tragedy, focusing mainly on domestic violence and trafficking in Charleston.

The first order of business will be sharing the opportunity to be part of Monat. When presenting that opportunity, Vanschoyck and Treloar cover three main reasons to join:
- The company culture — Vanschoyck describes the Monat team as a family. The market partners, executives and company owners all also put a big emphasis on gratitude and charity. For instance, they collectively raised about $340,000 for four Compassion International centers, Vanschoyck said.
- The product — The hair care line and new skin care line are free of toxins, non-GMO, made from ingredients that are sustainably farmed and are proprietary blends that can't be duplicated, which puts the company in a niche market.
- The compensation plan — Vanschoyck said the company's pay scale "can't be beat" in the network marketing industry. Market partners are paid 52 cents of every dollar and can participate in profit sharing.
Among the topics that will be addressed are:
- Vision casting, vision boards and dream building — In what Vanschoyck said is her "favorite thing to teach," attendees are asked six questions to help determine what they really want in life and how to start the journey to meet those goals. Vanschoyck said she encourages attendees to come up with at least one short-term goal to be achieved in the next 30 days, but she also encourages them to aim for BHAGs, or Big Hairy Audacious Goals. Attendees write down the goals, create an action plan and leave with an accountability partner to help them stay on track to reach their aspirations. The accountability partners are someone the attendee does not know going into the event since it is sometimes easier to tell a stranger about big goals and hangups. The new accountability partners exchange information and check in with each other.
- Goal setting — Vanschoyck said the entire network marketing profession is based on goals, so putting goals in writing is important. "If you don't know what the end goal is, how will you know how you're going to get there?" she said.
- Personal and professional development — The key to growing any business and building relationships, which is the crux of any entrepreneurial pursuit, Vanschoyck encourages attendees to set aside time every day to develop their mind, or "mind your mind," as she put it. She suggests setting the tone for the day by starting every morning with at least 10 minutes of personal development, such as meditation, reading, listening to a podcast, etc. Then, end each day with 10 minutes of professional development before bed, which could include any of the above and anything to hone business skills. "There are so many avenues for you to feed your mind with the right information," Vanschoyck said.
Overall, Vanschoyck said she hopes the events give attendees something on which to take action.
