ZANESVILLE, Ohio, May 18, 2023 ~ Joseph C. Baker, a distinguished business professional, has been prominently featured in The Inner Circle for his contributions to the restaurant industry.

Mr. Baker began his career in 1977 when he joined Tom's Ice Cream Bowl as a dishwasher. Over the years, he worked his way up to assistant manager and then manager of the restaurant. He also completed coursework in accounting at Muskingum Area Technical College, which provided him with a strong foundation of business practices. In 2019, Mr. Baker purchased Tom's Ice Cream Bowl and is now responsible for overseeing daily operations and ice cream production.

Tom's Ice Cream Bowl was originally founded in 1948 by Jack Hemmer and Tom Mirgon in Zanesville, Ohio. It is well-known for its homemade ice cream products and comfort foods. Working under Mr. Mirgon, Mr. Baker learned the ins and outs of the business and now supplies almost 97% of the business' ice cream - an impressive feat considering he has produced over 800,000 gallons since 1977!

Mr. Baker credits his success to his hardworking parents who instilled a strong work ethic in him from an early age. He is proud to have had his business featured as the number one ice cream spot in a national newspaper and to have kept it running throughout the COVID-19 pandemic despite all odds.
