The City of Akron to Celebrate Trick or Treat on Saturday, October 28 from 5-7 PM

~ On Saturday, October 21, the City of Akron will be hosting its second-annual Fall Fest at Cascade Plaza in downtown Akron. This Halloween-themed family event will feature trick-or-treat stations on Main St. from 5 to 7 p.m., music by local band Wishgarden, food, a fire pit lounge, pumpkin decorating, and a free showing of the popular 1993 movie, Hocus Pocus, at 7 p.m.

The event is presented by Downtown Akron Partnership with support from the City of Akron, the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, and Ohio Arts Council. Mayor Horrigan expressed his enthusiasm for the event saying "Trick or Treat is an opportunity for our neighborhoods and the community to come together to provide a fun, safe environment for children and families to celebrate with one another"

In addition to Fall Fest on October 21st, Trick or Treat Night in the City of Akron will take place on Saturday October 28th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., as per city council ordinance. Residents who wish to participate may show their support by turning on their porch lights between these hours that evening; police patrols will pay special attention to children and families walking city neighborhoods to promote a safe and successful celebration for all.
