The interim VAP will be available for those residents who have sold their homes since February 3, currently have their homes on the market, or will put their homes on the market. Eligible property owners will work with independent appraisers to assess the value of their home and with the Norfolk Southern Family Assistance Center (FAC) after the sale to recoup any difference. The interim VAP will end when a long-term VAP is announced and its requirements will apply at that time.

Residents can learn more about eligibility requirements and steps required for program participation on the VAP website, materials available at FAC or by contacting the VAP Administrator via (877) 270-6970.

Norfolk Southern is committed to making things right for East Palestine and its surrounding communities by providing this interim Value Assurance Program as part of broader commitments made in March 2023.
