Metallus and the United Steelworkers (USW) Local 1123 Agree to Extend Contract

CANTON, Ohio, Sept. 25, 2025 ~ Metallus (NYSE: MTUS) and the United Steelworkers (USW) Local 1123 have reached an agreement to extend their contract, which was set to expire on Monday, September 29, 2025. The extension, which was jointly agreed upon by both parties, will allow negotiations to continue as they work towards a mutually beneficial agreement.

According to Metallus CEO Mike Williams, the negotiations are progressing positively and both sides are committed to reaching a collaborative agreement that supports the long-term success of the company and meets the needs of all stakeholders. Williams also emphasized the company's dedication to strong cash generation and sustained profitability across market cycles, as well as their commitment to serving customers and operating safely.

The current contract covers approximately 1,200 bargaining employees at Metallus' Canton, Ohio operations. The extension is set to expire on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. Both Metallus and USW Local 1123 are optimistic about reaching a fair and satisfactory agreement for all parties involved.
