COLUMBUS, Ohio - OhioPen -- Elizabeth Jay, a passionate cosmetologist, and Dominican Republic native, is celebrating a major milestone—nearing the one-year anniversary of her BLO Blow Dry Bar franchise in Lewis Center, Ohio. Since opening on April 27, 2024, Elizabeth has brought a fresh, modern beauty concept to Central Ohio that's typically found in major style-forward cities like New York, Miami, and Nashville.

Rooted in the values of discipline and entrepreneurship passed down by her parents, Elizabeth's journey began in the Dominican Republic. "My parents taught me the power of hard work and creating something of your own," she shares. "They were my first inspiration."

Originally planning to open the salon alongside her mother, Jay faced heartbreaking loss when her mother passed away during the COVID-19 pandemic. Determined to carry their dream forward, Jay launched the Lewis Center location in her mother's honor—and it's been thriving ever since.

As a certified cosmetologist in Ohio, Jay has always had a deep love for hair and beauty. BLO Blow Dry Bar specializes in blowouts—a wash, blow-dry, and style designed to keep hair looking flawless for days. Unlike a traditional salon, the focus is on convenience, confidence, and cutting down on daily styling time, especially for busy women on the go.

Entrepreneurship runs in the family: Elizabeth's sister is also a franchise owner, running a Waxxpot in Reynoldsburg, Ohio.
