~ Columbus Mayor Andrew J. Ginther has unveiled his proposed $2.9 billion 2025 Capital Budget, which aims to prioritize the safety and well-being of all residents. The budget includes funding for various projects, including the construction of a new Easton police sub-station, fire apparatus, safety enhancements along four Clean and Safe Corridors, a new police records management system, and improvements to high-crash intersections throughout the city.

In addition to these safety measures, the budget also allocates funds for affordable housing, street resurfacing, sidewalks, and upgrades to recreation centers and utilities. This includes over $1 billion for the city's fourth water plant and more than $8 million for capital projects supporting Columbus non-profits.

According to Mayor Ginther, this budget reflects his top priority of ensuring the health, safety, and stability of all Columbus residents. He stated that these funds will be used to repair roofs for seniors in need of stable housing, provide clean water for the community, upgrade emergency response vehicles for quicker response times, expand the geographic footprint of Columbus Police to meet the growing needs of the city, and create safer routes for children walking to school.
