WEST HARTFORD, Conn., Jan. 21, 2025 ~ Colt's Manufacturing Company, a renowned name in the firearms industry with a history of over 175 years, has recently launched a groundbreaking platform called the "Safety Impact Award." This platform aims to recognize and honor non-profit organizations that have shown an exceptional commitment to promoting safety in the firearms industry.
To support and champion the important work of these organizations, Colt has enlisted the help of former professional football stars Clay Matthews, Adam Vinatieri, Joe Thomas, and Fletcher Cox. These ambassadors share a passion for outdoor recreation and have each made an initial donation of $5,000 to support the safety missions of their respective charitable partners.
Clay Matthews is supporting Project ChildSafe, which is the nation's most comprehensive firearm safety and education program. This organization works with law enforcement agencies across the country to provide free firearm safety kits and educational resources to families, neighborhoods, and communities.

Adam Vinatieri is backing Clays For Charity, an annual event that he hosts which brings together people from different backgrounds for a day of sport shooting and other outdoor activities. The proceeds from this event go towards supporting non-profit organizations in the firearms industry with a strong focus on promoting safe and responsible gun ownership.
Joe Thomas has joined forces with Ducks Unlimited, an organization founded by hunter-conservationists in 1937. Their mission is to conserve wetlands and associated habitats for waterfowl and other wildlife.
Fletcher Cox is supporting the International Hunter Education Association (IHEA), which serves as a resource for hunting and shooting sports educators. They develop standards based on research that promote safe, responsible, and ethical practices.
According to Colt's Manufacturing President Josh Dorsey, safety is at the core of everything they do. He believes in supporting organizations that are dedicated to educating and empowering communities. The Safety Impact Award is their way of recognizing these efforts and providing resources to further expand their impact.

Colt has also come up with an innovative engagement platform where fans can play a role in determining the winner of the inaugural "Safety Impact Award." By casting a vote on www.SafetyImpactAward.com, fans can help their favorite organization win. For every vote received, Colt will donate one dollar (up to $10,000) to the winning non-profit organization.
Cleveland football legend Joe Thomas, who is an avid hunter and sport shooter, has expressed his support for this award. He believes that educating and emphasizing the importance of safe and responsible firearm ownership is crucial for everyone. Thomas has joined forces with Colt and Ducks Unlimited to raise awareness about this award and encourage communities to work towards promoting safety.
As a token of appreciation for supporting safe and responsible ownership, all fans who vote will be entered into Colt's "Big Game Safety Sweepstakes" in collaboration with Credova. If a safety occurs in the pro football championship on Sunday, February 9th, fans will have a chance to win a portion of $100,000.
The voting period for the Safety Impact Award is open until Friday, January 31 at 8 p.m. EST. The winner will be announced on Monday, February 3rd. To learn more about the Colt "Safety Impact Award" and cast your vote, visit www.SafetyImpactAward.com.
