~ The City of Columbus is currently working with federal authorities and cybersecurity experts to investigate a recent cybersecurity incident that occurred in July. As part of their response, the city has taken precautionary measures by offering Experian credit monitoring to all City of Columbus employees, Franklin County Municipal Court Judges, and Franklin County Municipal Court Clerk employees who receive paychecks from the city.

According to the city, employees will receive instructions on how to enroll in Experian credit monitoring directly. This is being done as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety and security of personal information.

In addition, the city is urging its employees and technology users to report any unusual IT activity or suspected compromised email accounts to abuse@columbus.gov for further investigation. Employees are also advised to use different passwords for their personal accounts as an added layer of protection.
