Akron, Ohio, July 30, 2021 — Today, Mayor Dan Horrigan and the City of Akron's Lock 3 have announced the detailed list of August 2021 events on the Cleveland Clinic Akron General Stage and throughout the City.
August 2021 events include:
2021 State of the City Address: Monday, August 9, 2021, at 6 p.m., Mayor Horrigan will present the State of the City Address on the Lock 3 stage. Gates will open at 5 p.m., and the event will begin at 6 p.m. A live performance by Umojah Nation will begin at 6:45 p.m. and the attire is business casual. Food, alcoholic beverages, and parking will be available. Tickets must be purchased in advance.

Every Wednesday in August through September from 7 to 9 p.m. come down to Lock 3 for live music, drink specials, food, and more, featuring the following artists:
Thursday Alternative Nights with the jenY 107.3: Every Thursday in August come to Lock 3 for music with radio station jenY 107.3 FM from 7 to 10 p.m. Alternative Nights will offer yard games, drink specials, music, and food options by NoHi Pop-Up, a carry-out, rotating restaurant from Akron's North Hill.
Rock the Lock:
Every Friday in August, Rock the Lock will feature your favorite tribute bands, with gates opening at 6 p.m. and concerts beginning at 7 p.m.
Bands include:
Saturday and Sunday Music, Events, and Festivals, all with free admission:
Family Movie Night: Join us on Sunday evenings this summer and enjoy a special theme starting at 8 p.m. (or at sunset) followed by a movie. Bring a blanket, and learn about animals, dance, and more, while enjoying a movie under the stars. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
Community Partner Movie Series: These movies are held at various City of Akron partner locations throughout the summer with movies beginning at dusk (approximately 8:45 p.m.).
Sponsors and foundation underwriting keep all concerts free or at deep discounts.

- August 27: Simply Queen, Queen Tribute with Twist Offs
Saturday and Sunday Music, Events, and Festivals, all with free admission:
- August 7: Lock 3 is hosting a concert featuring Motown sound and more, by Akron's ReaL DeaL. Gates open at 6 p.m. and the concert will begin at 7 p.m. with Forecast and DJ Mo Lee.
- August 8: Truth Mime, Living for God Mime, Humble Cry Ministries, and The Exalting Him Gospel Choir will perform at Lock 4 during Gospel Sundays, beginning at 4 p.m.
- August 14: Join The Platters with Jul Big Green on your Lock 3 Stage! Known for signature songs, "Only You," "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes," and "Twilight Time." Gates open at 6 and music starts at 7.
- August 22: S.O.A.R. Gospel Band will perform at Lock 4 during Gospel Sundays beginning at 4 p.m.
