City of Akron Press Release
From the desk of Stephanie Marsh
Published: 06-27-2022
Akron, Ohio, June 27, 2022 — Akron Mayor Dan Horrigan will deliver his 2022 State of the City Address on Wednesday, August 17, 2022. This year's address, hosted by the Akron Roundtable, will return downtown to the John S. Knight Center and will begin with a breakfast at 7:00am. The format for 2022 will be unique and feature an interview conducted by Akron Public Schools Superintendent Christine Fowler-Mack with Mayor Horrigan.
Mayor Horrigan is proud to announce that, for the sixth consecutive year, the proceeds of the event will benefit the Russell M. Pry Memorial Scholarship at The University of Akron School of Law, in honor of Mayor Horrigan's late friend and mentor, Summit County Executive Russ Pry. Russ Pry's 2014 State of the County address, which was conducted in a candid interview style with National Public Radio web editor M.L. Schultze, was the inspiration for this year's format.
