COLUMBUS, Ohio, Feb. 5, 2024 ~ Columbus, Ohio - American Electric Power (AEP) has once again been recognized as one of America's best corporate citizens, earning a spot on the JUST 100 list for the fourth consecutive year. The company, listed on Nasdaq as AEP, has also maintained its position in the top 20 for the second year in a row.
The JUST 100 list, compiled by JUST Capital in partnership with CNBC, evaluates 937 of the nation's largest publicly traded companies based on their commitment to stakeholders. This includes factors such as job creation, worker health and safety, and environmental sustainability.

AEP's inclusion on the JUST 100 list is a testament to its corporate accountability strategy. The company understands that its nearly 17,000 employees play a crucial role in providing safe and reliable power to over 5.6 million customers across 11 states. With more than 40,000 miles of transmission lines and over 225,000 miles of distribution lines under its management, AEP is also one of the nation's largest electricity producers with nearly 29,000 megawatts of diverse generating capacity.
In line with its commitment to sustainability, AEP has invested $43 billion over the next five years to make its electric grid cleaner and more reliable. The company is on track to achieve an impressive 80% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions from 2005 levels by 2030 and has set a goal to reach net zero emissions by 2045.
