CLEVELAND, Oct. 21, 2024 ~ As the rates of colorectal cancer continue to rise among younger Americans, Reese Pharmaceutical has announced the launch of the second phase of their "Know Your CRC History" campaign. The campaign, also known as #MyCRCHistory, aims to empower families to have open discussions about their colorectal cancer health history during holiday gatherings.

The main focus of this initiative is to educate the public about the increasing accessibility of at-home tests, specifically ColoTest. This at-home fecal immunochemical test (FIT) is now available for purchase in over 7,000 CVS Pharmacy stores nationwide and online at CVS.com. In addition to Walmart and Amazon, this non-invasive test can be used annually by individuals of any age to quickly detect hidden blood in the stool, which may be an indication of colorectal cancer.

According to Jeffrey Reese, President of Reese Pharmaceutical, "The holidays provide a unique opportunity to discuss family health history. This knowledge empowers individuals to get screened earlier and more frequently, helping to minimize their risk." He also emphasizes that with the increased accessibility of ColoTest, taking the first step towards early detection has never been easier and could ultimately save lives.

The American Cancer Society reports that approximately 20,000 people under the age of 50 are diagnosed with colorectal cancer each year. It is now the leading cause of cancer deaths among men in this age group and the second leading cause for women under 50.
