Confidential Zoom consultations are now available for Somali nationals in Ohio, including evenings and weekends, to address ICE concerns and post-admission immigration reviews.
COLUMBUS, Ohio - OhioPen -- International Law Group (ILG), a U.S. immigration law firm with nationwide reach, announced today that it is expanding its rapid-response immigration consultation services for Somali individuals and families living in Ohio, with particular outreach to the Columbus metropolitan area, following intensified federal enforcement activity affecting refugee and asylum cases.
Recent federal initiatives have increased post-admission reviews of refugee and asylum grants, including deeper file audits, follow-up interviews, and renewed background checks. These actions—initiated by the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services—may place some individuals at risk of referral to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), especially where lawful permanent residence has not yet been secured.

Somali communities in central Ohio, including long-established refugee populations in and around Columbus, may be disproportionately impacted by these developments. Many individuals are now receiving unexpected correspondence from the government, interview notices, or requests for additional information regarding older immigration filings.
