Akron, Ohio, January 20, 2022 — The City of Akron has lifted the snow emergency parking ban that was put in place at 8pm on Sunday, January 16 in advance of the winter storm. While the forecast called for 3-6 inches of snow, Akron received12-15 inches of snow between Sunday evening and Monday morning.

Crews have worked around the clock to clear City streets. As of noon yesterday, all first, second, and third priority routes have been completed. All 52 trucks remained on the road throughout the evening to help further clear the streets.
Today, the City has 28 trucks out working to continue the clean-up efforts on first and second priority routes. These trucks have remained on the road for approximately 90 hours. Residents are reminded to enter any requests for service at akronohio.gov/311 or by calling the Mayor's 3-1-1 call center. Crews will continue to work on requests as they come in.
