Buckeye Lake Pirate Fest returns in 2027 with two major events marking its fourth year of Pirate‑themed entertainment. The festival expands with a new pre‑season kickoff in May and a five‑day celebration in September.

Wake the Lake – May 22, 2027

A one‑day Pirate Party held around Buckeye Lake with events held at multiple locations. Area businesses will offer food and drink specials, retail discounts, and Pirate‑themed promotions with staff in costume and nautical décor displayed lake‑wide.

Rock the Dock – Sept. 8–12, 2027

A five‑day festival featuring Pirate activities at multiple locations. Events include a Pirate hat‑making class, Pirate Bike Night, a fashion show, costume contests, Pirate bands, a Renaissance market, and kids' buccaneer activities. Businesses will again transform into Pirate outposts with themed decorations and costumed crews.

Port Royal returns to the Village of Buckeye Lake a the new Escape to Buckeye Lake Welcome Center, 4894 Walnut Rd, Buckeye Lake, OH 43008. The center is operated by the Fairfield County Visitor & Convention Bureau in partnership with the Buckeye Lake Region Chamber of Commerce.

Buckeye Lake Pirate Fest is a community‑driven celebration designed to launch and wrap the Buckeye Lake recreational season. The mission is to energize the tri‑county economy and highlight local businesses, waterways, and lake communities through themed activities and regional partnerships.

The festival is produced by Buckeye Events, featuring Captain Kelly Collins and Skipper Charlie, residents of Hebron, Ohio and operators of Buckeye Lake Boater Training. The Directors were recently featured on WOSU Public Media's All Sides: Fascinating Ohio segment announcing the 2027 festival.
